PANEL PLUS RE-ACCREDITATION (BSI Compliant)

IMI Accreditation Panel, formerly ATA, is for technicians whose role involves the repair of vehicles involved in accidents or similar incidents. The re-accreditation route is for those people renewing their licence, in addition to the standard re-accreditation we include the "rectify Vehicle Misalignment AOM 032" to ensure BSI compliance compared to the standard offering.

Description

This accreditation will certify your competence in assessing and preparing a vehicle before the removal of mechanical and electrical components (disconnected battery, fuses etc). You will know how to store components safely and suitably in designated areas, using the correct storage procedures, and how to replace and adjust components to meet vehicle specifications and settings. You will have complex knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) techniques/methods used for removing and replacing vehicle apparatus.

This module is to assess the competence of the knowledge, skills and ability in determining if a technician is able to realign and rectify misalignment of a vehicle/bodyshell.

Eligibility

 The technician should be working in the accident repair sector of the industry and ideally have at least 3 years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to replace various components, including returning vehicle systems to manufacturer specification and tolerances.

AOM-009 is a pre-requisite for individuals looking to undertake IMI Accreditation Panel. It is a single certificate accreditation which provides an industry-recognised proof of welding competence. The assessment is a standalone module that can be delivered at an IMI approved centre, or in the workplace (providing the criteria are met).

This module is to assess the competence of the candidate's knowledge, skill and ability to check the vehicles four wheel alignment / geometry. This will include ensuring that the vehicle is initially set up to the correct specifications and then using industry recognised wheel alignment equipment record the readings obtained from the vehicle and compare them against the vehicle manufacturer data.
