VEHICLE DAMAGE ASSESSOR (VDA) RE-ACCREDITATION

IMI Accreditation Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA), formerly ATA, is intended for individuals whose job role involves estimating repairs to vehicles damaged in accidents or similar incidents. The re-accreditation route is for those people renewing their licence and at the booking point you must supply your AT number from your original licence card.

Description

This accreditation will certify that you are able to establish and record the circumstances surrounding damage sustained in an incident, accurately record actual vehicle damage and confirm that it matches the stated circumstances. You will be able to identify, record and report the static checks on parking brake operations, and work within given time constraints. You will also have the skills to establish and accurately record safe repair methods for vehicles damaged in an accident, and record your opinion on any appropriate panel repair options, within prescribed margins.

Eligibility

The individual should be working in the accident repair sector of the industry and have at least three years' experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to determine the vehicle damage, identify the correct safe repair method to return the vehicle back to its pre-accident condition.

AOM-009 is a pre-requisite for individuals looking to undertake IMI Accreditation Panel. It is a single certificate accreditation which provides an industry-recognised proof of welding competence. The assessment is a standalone module that can be delivered at an IMI approved centre, or in the workplace (providing the criteria are met).

This module is to assess the competence of the candidate's knowledge, skill and ability to check the vehicles four wheel alignment / geometry. This will include ensuring that the vehicle is initially set up to the correct specifications and then using industry recognised wheel alignment equipment record the readings obtained from the vehicle and compare them against the vehicle manufacturer data.
