MOT NEW TESTER CLASS 4&7
At S&B Automotive Academy we can provide the complete training package enabling you to become a registered class 4&7 MOT tester. Training will take place at our Academy in Bristol by experienced professionals over the following format. • 6 hours pre-course online Training - this will be sent via email. • 3 Days Training at S&B Academy • 1 Day assessment The assessment day will be either on the Thursday or Friday following the course and this will be allocated on booking on a first come first served basis.

REQUIREMENTS
- A copy of your level 3 light vehicle inspection certificate.
- A completed tester liability form, which will need to include a case sensitive licence check code for S&B to process (this code can be found through the following GOV website https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence). This code is for one time use only, please do not carry out the check yourself.

Safe working practices in the test centre

Working relationships within the test centre

Manage own professional development as an MOT Tester
Carry out pre-test checks for a statutory periodic roadworthiness test

Carry out a statutory periodic roadworthiness test.
QUALIFICATION
Once your training has been completed you will be able to apply to the DVSA to become an authorised MOT tester.

Eligibility
To take an MOT testing course you must:
- have a current and full UK driving licence for the vehicle classes you want to test
- be a skilled mechanic with at least 4 years’ full-time employment servicing and repairing the types of vehicles you’re going to test
- have no unspent convictions for criminal offences
- be ‘of good repute’ - the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will decide this to make sure you’re suitable to be an MOT tester
- and to become a MOT Tester for class 3, 4, 5 or 7 vehicles they must also have an ‘appropriate’ qualification. Check the full list of accepted qualifications and accreditations.
