The MOT New Tester Course (Class 4 & 7) is designed for experienced vehicle technicians who want to become DVSA-approved MOT testers. Covering the procedures, standards, and legal responsibilities involved in testing Class 4 and 7 vehicles, the course combines theory with practical assessment. Successful candidates will be qualified to carry out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations.

At S&B Automotive Academy we can provide the complete Training package enabling you to become a registered class 1&2 MOT tester. Training will take place at our Academy in Bristol by experienced professionals over the following format. • 6 hours pre-course online Training • 2.5 Days Training at S&B Academy • 1 Day assessment The assessment day will be either on the Wednesday afternoon or Thursday following the training and this will be allocated on booking.

The new Level 3 Award in MOT Test Centre Management has been developed in collaboration with the DVSA to give learners the knowledge and skills required to manage MOT Vehicle Test Centres. This qualification will teach you how to: Develop the legislative and compliance knowledge required to manage an MOT Test Centre Effectively encourage improvements in customer service Develop and supervise staff within a Testing Centre Understand the Centre quality systems and audits

This is a self study online course and assessment to cover the required criteria that all testers must complete and pass an annual assessment between the start of April and the following March each year. To maintain your testing status for the vehicle classes you test, you will be responsible for: Planning and completing your annual training Recording annual training Passing the annual assessment.

The IMI Light Vehicle Inspection route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the inspection, maintenance and repair of light vehicles. There is one level within Light Vehicle Inspection: The technician must be able to work unsupervised – ideally, they should be in full time employment with at least three years experience to ensure they are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system(s) diagnosis

This Defra-approved qualification offers a single unit solution that provides experienced automotive Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) technicians with evidence that they meet the minimum F-gas requirement (EC842/2006 and annex EC307/2008).

This module is to assess the competence of the candidate's knowledge, skill and ability to check the vehicles four wheel alignment / geometry. This will include ensuring that the vehicle is initially set up to the correct specifications and then using industry recognised wheel alignment equipment record the readings obtained from the vehicle and compare them against the vehicle manufacturer data.

The Electric Vehicle route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the inspection maintenance and repair of light vehicles, as well as those involved in accident repair bodyshops (i.e. MET, Panel, Paint, VDA).

The Level 3 Award in Heavy Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement is a nationally recognised qualification designed for experienced heavy vehicle technicians working on high-voltage electric and hybrid vehicles. Delivered on-site at your workplace, this practical course equips learners with the knowledge and skills to safely diagnose, repair and replace high-voltage systems in line with current industry standards and manufacturer procedures.

This award is designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and require safety awareness. It is suitable for non-technical people. It contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and the precautions to avoid potential injury.

This is a Level 3 vocational qualification which provides individuals with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to work on heavy electric/hybrid vehicles including bus and coach.

This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.

This hands-on course equips learners with the skills needed to safely and effectively service complex EV and hybrid drivetrains.

We aim to offer exceptional quality, cost effective Electric Vehicle training that will allow an individual to complete Level 2, 3 and 4 in 5 days.
